Remember when I was bitching about the ‘hippie fascism’ that is so painfully present in Vermont at times? One of the things I’d hear all the time is the vague term that something is ‘corporate’ and therefore undeniably evil. Well, techno over at Daily Kos gives a great analysis of this, in relation to populism and how size matters, over at his diary entry called ‘Kossack Populism - Size Matters’. Have a lookie.

More words of wisdom from a man with an amazing insight into the underbelly of American culture, Joe Bageant, with ‘The Beauty of the System’.

Also, since ‘terrorism’ has replaced ‘communism’ as the new ‘Thing That Is Evil And To Be Perpetually Feared’, the heat is being put on some environmentalists as they are being labelled ‘eco-terrorists’. Janie Goodwin over at Red Pepper has the goods in a piece called ‘Are You Now or Have You Ever Been an Environmentalist?’

Finally, some thoughtful analysis about getting out of Iraq entitled ‘What Iraq War?’ by Stephen McArthur and P.J. Baicich over at Orwell’s Grave.
