Vermont: Let’s kick it up about impeachment.

For those of you following the Vermont impeachment matter, you probably know that the two people in the legislature that could make it a reality, Senate Pro Tempore Peter Shumlin and House Speaker Gaye Symington, are dragging their asses in order to not make it happen, citing other priorities and such. When considering how little the legislature has actually accomplished this year, one seriously has to wonder what those other priorities can be. And this is rubbed in even worse, considering that Shumlin time and time again expresses support of the impeachment measure, yet refuses to back it up with words. Now, Green Mountain Daily and VT Impeach have been covering this quite a bit, so you can get more background on it over there, but I do want to draw your attention to this message from Dan DeWalt, one of the pivotal citizens adding the impeachment, another call to arms, of sorts:

We are looking at at least 40 citizens coming to Montpelier to demand impeachment action next Tuesday. You folks could turn that 40 into 100, and an interesting news day could be changed into a sea of change. Folks just need to show up at the statehouse cafeteria this Tuesday April 17 at 10 am, (if they come later, it will work too). They will be given information about what they can accomplish there, talking points and assistance in getting an appointment with a rep, and in general everything they will need to be comfortable and effective. they can email letsgoflyakite@yahoo.com for more info.
