I know this is of marginal interest to most of my readers, and it’s old news by now, but Rowley has a few updates over at VT Secession updating you on SVR and VT Commons continuing slide into irrelevancy.

JD… Certainly it's reached the point where there's really not much more I can or should say. I don't think for a moment that Naylor or Williams will stop dreaming of a future for SVR but, aside from their few remaining SVR zombies, they're the only ones delusional enough to think that they're still going anywhere. Getting something published in an out of state daily that's doing the "quaint/cute" Vermont thing or in some neo-con rag isn't going to translate into support among Vermonters. Manufacturing outcome directed polls like the 19th century segregationist "Pitchfork" Ben Tillman stuffed ballot boxes to advance Jim Crow laws won't propel Vermont secession to reality. What's really shone through is the contempt that those two have for the intelligence of the average Vermonter. It wasn't the insensitivity to racism alone that did them in: it was the hubris.
Couldn't agree more, TR. If they had handled the whole thing differently, they could have come out of it a much stronger and credible organization; instead, it did them in.
