From the Grindhouse…
Continuing with the “in the near future when gangs take over the cities thing” theme, I’d be remiss to not mention the one that is considered the de facto classic, in which the gangs all dressed in Kiss-like makeup and ridiculously silly costumes. The Warriors, an insanely popular cult classic:
But in terms of truly craptacular cinema, The Warriors pales in comparison to the Italian ripoff, 1990: The Bronx Warriors, by former spaghetti western director Enzo G. Castellari almost 5 years later. Not only do we still get the Kiss-like makeup and silly costumes, we get Blaxploitation star Fred Williamson, who’s probably been in more shitty movies than any other American actor in history. Good times, folks:
