She’s Wrong: Teleprompter idiocy

I don’t deal with the right-wing blogs too much, as I can usually get more enlightened and informed conversation from my cat or from the clumps of hair that accumulate in the bathtub drain. Cons seem to love making a mockery out of common sense truths, like that idiotic time McCain mocked Obama for suggesting people check their tire pressure for maximum fuel efficiency. When actual facts are constantly treated with disdain, it’s easy to do. Anyways, I haven’t done a bit on Charity, VT’s own resident wingnut, simply because it’s usually the same ol’ same ol’ right-wing talking points and other reality-challenged nuttery. Most of us go over there for a laugh, nothing more.

So her latest post is on the latest right-wing idiocy from the wingnuttosphere is so vacuous I couldn’t let it pass… Obama uses a teleprompter!!! Oh, my god, horror of horrors!!! A president using a teleprompter! They’re allowed to do that? Since when? They’re finally figuring this out after 50 or so years? There’s even an incredibly stupid blog about it, which I’m not about to link to.

Let’s take a look at who else uses a teleprompter (images thx to Americablog, but these images are everywhere dealing with this nonsense)…
reagantele
bush2tele
thompsontele
hannitytele
palintele
mccaitele

I know, it’s just a coincidence that these pictures happen to be of some the biggest purveyors of braindead bullshit to ever grace the public airwaves, but it’s a safe bet cold, hard truth that even our best and brightest, when giving a speech, use a teleprompter, if they’re not reading it from a paper. It’s certainly not the teleprompter’s  fault the above people are such jackasses, moreso that they’ve signed off on the content on the teleprompter that makes them jackasses. So is Charity so stupid she didn’t realize this? Compartmentalized thinking? Or just hoping the rest of you are too stupid to figure this out? Even her hero, the “only true conservative”, Grampa Fred Thompson uses one. The scary thing is even with Bush using one, 1t didn’t stop him from sounding severely retarded.  That’s the thing with most conservative humor… it’s not really funny unless you’re as stupid as the person telling it.

Wow.  You seriously missed the reason the right started joking about President Teleprompter.

During the campaign, the media had multiple group orgasms about what an eloquent speaker Barack Obama is.  His eloquence revealed how brilliant he is and how superior he is to any other candidate ever.

    Recall that?

Well, now it seems that any time Mr. Eloquence is caught without his teleprompter, he is full of uh…, eh…, ah… idiocy.  He can barely utter a coherent sentence sometimes.

Thus the jokes about the teleprompter being his brain.

    Get it?

Interesting you included a picture of Sarah Palin using the teleprompter.  When she gave a speech at the RNC that blew people away, the media dismissd it using such phrases as, she read a good speech.

I didn’t see you pointing out that every politician reads their speeches when the left said that about her.  I guess you were too busy frothing at the mouth about her religious beliefs.

And, I am so sorry that my posts are too vacuous for your incredibly intelligent brain, but it was a filler post.  I like to give my readers new content, but I don’t always have the time for long posts.  I happened to be in the middle of a family crisis the past couple of weeks.

Funny that even with the genious-level IQ you have you still were not able to discern the real point of my post, which was that the TV execs are tired of losing millions of dollars to air Obama’s speeches.

The teleprompter jabs were just an aside.

    You are just an ass.

Although I agree about his eloquence and not the “superior to any other candidate ever”, the fact that he’s reading something he’s written off a teleprompter, and flubs something when he’s winging it is.. well, what’s your point? You’re right, I don’t get it.

When she gave a speech at the RNC that blew people away, the media dismissd it using such phrases as, she read a good speech.

Right, because it was so achingly obvious she didn’t write it. That’s where the story/criticism was. Palin is an idiot, almost making Bush look like a genius in terms of her grasping concepts like facts and English. We all know that. What’s your point?

I didn’t see you pointing out that every politician reads their speeches when the left said that about her.  I guess you were too busy frothing at the mouth about her religious beliefs.

Once again, with Palin, it was so OBVIOUS it was written for her. That’s why it was worth mentioning, couple with the fact that was nothing but the typical GOP talking points. And yes, her religious beliefs are batshit kookoo. Thanks for reminding us.

I happened to be in the middle of a family crisis the past couple of weeks.

Sorry to hear about that, seriously.

The teleprompter jabs were just an aside.

Yes, but as with every other time I take you to task for something, it’s revealing as to the idiotic places you’re getting your information from (and in a larger sense, what shapes your distorted worldview). I point that out, and then you predictably say either that “it wasn’t me saying it” or “you don’t get it.” And sure, it’s a “joke”, but why do I suspect that some people actually think it’s for real, kinda like that birth certificate nonsense?

    You are just an ass.
Only an ass? I’m offended. I need to try harder. C’mon, cut me some slack here. It’s so obvious to even the mainstream types now how out of touch with you wingers are with reality that it’s not even shocking to point it out any more. Maybe it was just filler. And it’s not just you. It’s just pointing out how this constant “ooh, Obama uses a teleprompter” garbage from people who have never even read a history book or know what socialism “really” is just adds to the idiot factor.

“which was that the TV execs are tired of losing millions of dollars to air Obama’s speeches.”

I got that point from reading that silly post of hers, but who the hell cares??  Of course they are supposedly losing more revenue under Obama than under GWB…GWB hardly ever gave prime-time speeches or press conferences…so that a wider audience couldn’t see how stupid he sounded…sheesh…

  • Charity Says:

BTW, Obama does NOT write his own speeches.  You are more of an idiot than Sarah Palin if you think otherwise.

I can’t respond to this point by point because I am about to watch Terminator, which is far more interesting than you, but I had to say this.  My “distorted” worldview was shaped when I was studying political science at UVM with a bunch of asshat liberal professors.  That is when I became a conservative.  I was so overwhelmed by stupidity of liberalism that I sought out the opposite.

    • J.D. Ryan Says:

Really? He doens’t write his own speeches?

Obama preps in solitude for speech

      How Obama Writes His Speeches

… and about a thousand other places if you take the time to look. I’m sure he doesn’t write all of ‘em, but it certainly seems he writes the major ones.. the acceptance speech, the race speech, etc. That eloquence that the Joe-0the-Plumber types decry so much is actually his (I’m not saying I agree with the content – merely that he really is an eloquent guy, hard as it is for so many cons to comprehend).

  • ConcordiaDis Says:

No surprise that I hear the same idiocy from the usual suspects at work. Lots of noise about teleprompters and how AIG is blameless in the whole financial mess.

  • JD Ryan Says:

Oh, I can only begin to speculate who those usual suspects are. Undoubtedly those who make about the same amount of money that we do, defend the actions of those who  make thousands of times that, and support policies and do things that hurt us. Because Sean Hannity said so.
