“It was simply cross-hairs like you’d see on maps”

Apparently, Sarah Palin thinks you’re all as fucktarded as she is:

“We never ever, ever intended it to be gun sights. It was simply cross-hairs like you’d see on maps,” said Rebecca Mansour on the Tammy Bruce radio show. Moreover, there was “nothing irresponsible” about the image, and to draw a line connecting Palin and Saturday’s shooting is “obscene” and “appalling.”

Uh-huh.

I’m going to say what a lot on my side are probably thinking but won’t say out loud, as I’m not equipped with a fully-functioning filter. I realize that this guy was mentally ill (as are many conservatives, if we are to judge by what is said on Glenn Beck, etc.). But I hope to hell the investigation finds a solid, irrefutable right-wing connection, for numerous reasons. It will hopefully be so concrete, the media will have to stop this bullshit “both sides do it” horseshit. In 2011, the right owns violent rhetoric. Period. Maybe some people will have their come-to-Jim-Jones moment, and start to realize what a vacant, ignorant, mean-spirited and dangerous twat Sarah Palin is. You can only polish a turd so much, before the smell of shit is overpowering.

Oh, and lookie here, breaking, on all places, on Fox News… did someone get a conscience? From a memo from the DHS:

Intervention by someone?* no direct connection – but strong suspicion is being directed at AmRen / American Renaissance. Suspect is possibly linked to this group. (through videos posted on his myspace and YouTube account.). The group’s ideology is anti government, anti immigration, anti ZOG (Zionist Occupational Government), anti Semitic.

But of course, promoting violent anti-Semitism is primarily something liberals do, right?

Once again, your ideological hatred has you grasping at straws.  I see your source, Fox News, has already started changing their description of this memo of which you speak.  First it was from the DHS; now it is from some unnamed police department source.
Not to mention, according to this alleged DHS memo, Giffords was vulnerable for attack because she was the first Jewish female in such a high position of power.  Uh, did we forget about Barbara Boxer, Dianne Feinstein, and Bella Abzug?
Next, while American Renaissance may have some unsavory ideas, hatred of Jews isn’t one of them.  Jesus, yesterday, even the Southern Poverty Law Center and the Anti-Defamation League conceded that American Renaissance is not anti-semitic.  Further, the leader of American Renaissance stated they had no record of this Jared Loughner ever even visiting their website.
As for these crosshairs you keep hyperventilating about, I guess you choose to ignore that the Democratic Leadership Council used bullseyes on Republican states, and the Democractic Congressional Campaign Committee used bullseyes on a map of their own to designate “Targeted Republicans.”  They used that exact term.
Let’s not forget also that just a couple of days ago, the Daily Kos ran a diary entry that excoriated Giffords’ decision not to support Nancy Pelosi for minority leader, and the writer said Giffords is “dead to me.”  I have decided that I blame that article for Giffords being shot.  See how easy this game is played?
Sorry J.D.  All credible evidence so far point to Giffords’ shooter at being a man of the left… just like you.
There is no moral equivalence going on as you describe.  The lion’s share of political hate speech and violence going on out there comes from the left, and it caused one of your own to snap.  You can wail and whine and wave shiny objects in front of your mouth-breathing fellow travelers, but you people need to own up to the violence you have caused.

…from AZ, and only the third female elected to Congress from AZ.
“As for these crosshairs you keep hyperventilating about, I guess you choose to ignore that the Democratic Leadership Council used bullseyes on Republican states”

…but not on people, of course.  It was a simply called a “Targeting Strategy”.  Look, no one is saying that you can’t use the word target anymore.  Target means an object of criticism or a desired goal.  Putting what is obviously a gun sight on someone & using gun/revolutionary rhetoric excessively is another thing.

“and the Democractic Congressional Campaign Committee used bullseyes on a map of their own to designate ‘Targeted Republicans.’  They used that exact term.”

That specific use, IMHO, was probably out of line.  Again, there’s really no comparison though with the kind of rhetoric that Palin & her Tea Party “mouth-breathers” have been using over the last few years.
“Let’s not forget also that just a couple of days ago, the Daily Kos ran a diary entry that excoriated Giffords’ decision not to support Nancy Pelosi for minority leader, and the writer said Giffords is ‘dead to me'”

…which we’ve already been over.  It’s a totally bogus equivalency to what Palin & her kind have been up to, period.

“All credible evidence so far point to Giffords’ shooter at being a man of the left”

…once again, only in your wildest dreams…lol…
“The lion’s share of political hate speech and violence going on out there comes from the left”

Wrong again, and there’s simply no way that you can prove that to be true.

  • W.R. Chandler Says:

Oh, and I just found out:  This second “person of interest” who you insisted would be a “non-schizophrenic Tea Bagger” has turned out to simply be the shooter’s cab driver.  The cabbie has been fully exonerated.
    Good show, J.D.  Good show.

  • J.D. Ryan Says:

Yeah, good for the cab driver. As to you and your endless false equivalencies, I’d at least think that you’d be smart enough to know that “dead to me” is a term not used to denote killing someone; it means “I’m done with them.” But that wouldn’t fit into your narrative. Who is the left-wing equivalent of Glenn Beck? Some assclown like Ed Schultz? I think not? Alan Grayson is not Sarah Palin. Plus, he actually reads books.

If we were blogging during the Oklahoma City Bombing, I’m positive you’d be twisting yourself in knots insisting McVeigh was no right-winger, either. It was Clinton’s fault, with all those damn black helicopters and such. When are y’all actually going to take responsibility for anything? Fucking up the economy? Turning a lot of the world against us? Two bogus wars? It’s all the liberals’ fault, right?

  • Thomas Rowley Says:

American Renaissance is more commonly known to be an uptown Klan – suits instead of sheets.  Its conferences attract, in addition to racists, Holocaust deniers and neo-Nazis.  The AmRen website has served as an access point for anti-Semitic literature and Jared Taylor appears regularly on web radio programs for racist, anti-Semitic, Holocaust denying groups like Stormfront and The Political Cesspool.  Here’s Jared Taylor announcing an upcoming conference on a web video of racist ideologue, League of the South member and host of The Political Cesspool’s radio show and blog, James Edwards.

Jared Taylor received a mention in one of the earliest posts I put up pointing out the philosophical links between the SVR co-chair Rob Williams and white supremacist memes vis-a-vis Abraham Lincoln.

Williams’ VTCommons rag has published the racist musings of UVM prof. Robert S. Griffin, who also contributes racist bile at the AmRen site. VTCommons contributor Susan Ohanian has offered Griffin’s racist swill at her own website.

    Small world, huh?

  • W.R. Chandler Says:

Yes, you libelous kook: good for the cab driver.  You keep flinging poo at the wall like a monkey, hoping something sticks:  Uh oh, the shooter isn’t a “Tea Bagger” after all, so, uh, uh… THE CAB DRIVER!  That’s it!  The cab driver has to be a “Tea Bagger!”  Yeah, that’s it!  What?  He isn’t?  Oh rats!
Ah, yes, “dead to me” merely means that I’m done with you.  That’s great, but you shouldn’t really use overheated rhetoric like that when some left-wing nutburger might seize upon that statement and use it as an excuse to take out a Dem congresswoman who betrayed Nancy Pelosi.
Kind of like putting someone in the “political crosshairs” is an oft-used military metaphor that is constantly used by both sides of the political aisle.  Just ask Daily Kos.  They “targeted” Gabby Giffords and put a “bullseye” on her district.  Just like the DCCC went after “targeted Republicans,” and the DLC went after targeted Republican states; both using targets and bullseyes on their maps.  You glossed right over that.  Honestly, have you looked up any of this stuff that the left does?  Have you not listened to Barack Obama, who has urged his minions to “bring a gun” when the Republicans only bring a knife?  Get out of your bubble J.D.  The left is not only speaking most of the violence, they are committing most of it as well.  WTO in Seattle and Pittsburgh?  I don’t remember cops with tear gas ever having to be called out to any Tea Party meetings.
Tell you what, I’m going to provide you a link to Michelle Malkin’s website.  Yeah, yeah, I know:  You hate her.  However, she gives a beautiful rundown of all the leftist hatred out there that you never see reported, and she sources all of it.  You may not like the messenger, but you can’t deny the message.  If you choose to view it, just ask yourself:  If the ideologies were reversed, how would you feel about the aggressors?  We know all about every little rhetorical transgression uttered or published on the right; that all gets covered.  Let’s see if you have the courage to actually look at the other side of the argument.  Do you?
To Thomas Rowley:  The whole DHS memo thing has now been de-bunked – DHS won’t even admit it exists – but as for the AmRen angle, take up your belief that they are anti-semitic with the SPLC and ADL, have both said that Jared Taylor is not anti-semitic.  I think the ADL especially knows who is anti-semitic and who is not.  I don’t like AmRen either, but if you are going to attack someone, at least be credible.

I’ve never been a big fan of Kos & a lot of his rhetoric, which is why I basically never go to that site myself.  Having said that though, the actual blog posting that you’re trying to refer to is all about picking out Dems (that didn’t vote the way Kos would have on the FISA Amendments Act of 2008) for political primaries from the Left…not for potential assassination.

Heck, he even used one of your favorite words in that blog post…”congresscritter”, which is not a favorite of mine by any means.

“Have you not listened to Barack Obama, who has urged his minions to ‘bring a gun’ when the Republicans only bring a knife?”

LOL…Obama made the comment in the context of warning donors that the general election campaign against McCain could get ugly, which it did indeed…mostly due to your buddy Palin.

“The left is not only speaking most of the violence, they are committing most of it as well.  WTO in Seattle and Pittsburgh?”
I’ve never condoned the violence of the black bloc & their ilk.  It’s unacceptable IMO no matter how it’s rationalized.

“I don’t remember cops with tear gas ever having to be called out to any Tea Party meetings.”

No, they just stomp on female heads when the cops aren’t around.  Nice crowd you associate with there wing-nut…
“However, she gives a beautiful rundown of all the leftist hatred out there that you never see reported”
Some of that stuff is admittedly pretty nasty, but I’ve never even seen some of the “abort Palin” stupid nonsense.  None of that makes any sense…Palin’s already been born, and no one outside of the far-Right thinks that abortion = murder.
Madonna trying to talk like rapper??  Please, since when has anyone looked to Madonna for any advice on anything?
Bernhard suffered rebuke by her stupid “comedic” remarks about Palin BTW.  It’s time for Palin to eat some crow now…whether she wants to or not.
Honestly??  I personally think McCain is a “bloodthirsty warmonger”…so’s your buddy Palin for that matter.  They’ve both proven so over & over again.
I also don’t think that shouting down a bunch of racist xenophobes qualifies as “violent”.  Neither does standing in the road in front of truck, flying the American flag upside down, or literally “throwing an ice cream pie at Bill Kristol”…”throwing a cup of salad dressing on Pat Buchanan”…”making lewd hard gestures at Ann Coulter”…”filing a false police report”…or “throwing custard cream pies at Ann Coulter”.
Personally, I don’t mind when Obama figuratively “kicks some ass” on Big Oil polluters…it’s looooong overdue IMO.  I actually find it offensive when GOPers call holding a company like BP responsible for their own, horrible actions as a “shakedown”.

  • J.D. Ryan Says:

You really don’t get it… one anonymous blogger on Kos using a common metaphor is simply not the equivalent of all of the hate spewed by Palin, Limbaugh, etc. Where do you hear Dems fetishising “Second Amendment Remedies” and a billion other macho-stupid metaphors? “Death” panels? Oh, wait, someone threw some salad dressing at Pat Buchanan!

Every Dem example you point out is minor in both scope and stature compared to your side. We don’t have people like Beck and Coulter who get taken seriously, nor do we have a a media equivalent that takes every word a former Veep candidate/white-trash reality star, uniquely unqualified for anything, seriously. The fact is, most domestic violence in this country has been right-wing, especially in the last 30 years.

Maybe Loughner wasn’t influenced by all the hateful right-wing rhetoric. That doesn’t change the fact that it exists.
