John McCain is oldFirst, John McCain was comparing Obama to William Jennings Bryan, a presidential candidate from over a century ago. In keeping with his steadfast efforts to close the generational gap, McCain has now compared Obama, when speaking of energy policy, to Dr. No:

Brian Rogers, a spokesman for the McCain campaign, accused Mr. Obama of being the “Dr. No” of energy security in a conference call with reporters on Tuesday. Mr. Rogers criticized Mr. Obama for “saying no” to oil exploration, a summer gas tax holiday, expanded investment in nuclear energy and a $300 million incentive to build a better car battery — all proposals that Mr. McCain has floated recently.

Dr. No was the first James Bond film. From 1962. At this rate, by the end of the campaign, McCain should be making cultural references like “Where’s the beef?”, ensuring that nobody born after 1980 has a clue what the hell he’s talking about.
